How to Start a Cacao Farm

When your day begins before the sun has risen and it's a clear morning and you feel good being outside, set out to feed your poultry or start your gardening duties, well then starting a farm might be for you!
But it's not just going to the farm, talk to farmers or plant. It's a very serious and tedious job for you to be in the agri-business industry.
So here, we want to share and look back at how we started operating on a 3-hectare cacao farm intercropped with bananas, located in Barangay Gumalang, Calinan District, Davao City.
Just a little bit of context, both Shiela and I don’t have any agriculture background but we had tunnel vision when it comes to cacao and chocolate so we researched (a lot), attended seminars, and asked a lot of questions from experienced farmers in Davao and asked help from different government agencies.

In this video below, we want to share with you the things we think we did right that you should also do if you want to start a farm. And we will also share the things that we did wrong so you won’t have to make the same mistakes.
